Conveni Tokyo

Welcome to Conveni Tokyo, a slice of Japan nestled in the heart of London at 25 Heritage Ave, NW9. This unique eatery bridges the gap between authentic Japanese cuisine and an East Asian grocery experience, reminiscent of the convenience stores you might stumble upon in Tokyo.

As you step into Conveni Tokyo, you are greeted with an array of delightful options that cater to all palates. Their menu boasts an enticing selection of sushi, maki rolls, and poke bowls, each crafted with fresh ingredients and a touch of culinary artistry. For instance, the Tokyo Dragon Roll lures patrons in with its delightful combination of prawn tempura, tobiko, and eel sauce, while the Two Way Salmon Roll pampers your taste buds with its fusion of crab meat, cream cheese, and carefully wrapped aburi salmon.

A standout feature of this café is its range of Oden—a traditional Japanese noodle soup that warms the soul. Here, diners can enjoy Japanese-style pork sausages, tender daikon, and crispy fried tofu, all simmered to perfection.

The Poke Special section is equally noteworthy, offering enticing options like Salmon Avocado Poke and the rich Nakaochi Tuna Poke, both served atop a bed of sushi rice. These dishes not only showcase the freshness of the seafood but also offer a unique twist to the traditional poke bowl, appealing to a modern audience.

However, while the menu is filled with potential hits, reviews reveal a mixed bag of experiences. Some customers express disappointment with their meals, citing inconsistencies in flavor and quality. For instance, Alexander Howett lamented over the sushi's size and crumble, contrasting the vibrant palate he had anticipated, while Max Lam found fault in the portion sizes and freshness of the chicken katsu curry.

Despite these critiques, the ambience of Conveni Tokyo remains inviting, embodying a boutique store feel that allows you to explore East Asian delights. From snacks and drinks to your typical ramen noodles, there's something for every kind of foodie, including nostalgic finds like Meiji Hello Panda cookies and a variety of instant noodles that can whisk you back to late-night cravings while living abroad.

Overall, Conveni Tokyo offers a vibrant experience filled with culinary opportunities that can transport you to Japan, one bite at a time. Whether you're here for a quick meal or an adventurous grocery stop, the café harbors an allure that beckons repeat visits. Embrace the journey and explore some Japanese classics with a dash of local charm!

This Oriental food store offers a wide range of unique foods and drinks, including a lovely selection of hot takeaway items. The bao in particular is a standout, fresh and delicious. However, I would say the store is on the expensive side and can feel quite cramped due to the limited space. One concern I have is with hygiene—some of the soups are displayed without covers, which I find off-putting. That said, the store does have a quirky and interesting variety of Oriental foods that you don’t often find elsewhere. Worth a visit, but there’s room for improvement.

Ordered a takeaway on Just eat. Paid £. for this chciken katsu curry and also % add on service charge. Which total to nearly £Very disappointed with the portion size which looks a lot smaller than the picture presented , they only gave me small slices of chicken katsu , batter tasted hard and stale and chicken was very dry and bland.I dont mind paying premium for a good lunch delivery and I would often visit your golders green branch as food and value for money is excellent thereBut this is an absolute rip-off and a complete disgrace from your company .

I’ve missed Japan ever since I moved away, so finding Japanese goods overseas is always a nice surprise. This place is reminiscent of a Japanese kombini, though selling a variety of East Asian foodstuffs (I was surprised to see Pei Pa Koa, a syrup to soothe coughs and sore throats!).The store mainly sells snacks, sauces, drinks and dried goods—bags of rice included. There is a small section selling daikon, spring onions and tofu. As well, sushi takeaway is available, along with oden! Towards the back, you can find a small selection of dish ware and bentō, which can make nice gifts. The freezers contain a variety of interesting things, but what we noticed was the packages of thinly sliced meat, which is ideal for a lot of Japanese meat dishes like nikujaga (it’s not the same with chunks of beef).I wasn’t able to find some things I was looking for, like barley tea, but I understand that they can’t stock everything. Also, I felt that some items were a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected when buying imported goods. Other than that, it was fun browsing the store. The staff was also friendly. If I lived closer, I’d go back more often.
